CWM is posting this message and update on behalf of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. CWM will continue to provide updated information as we receive it. We do know that representatives are meeting with CMPD to determine an orderly march route. Details will be forthcoming.
“We support our students and March for Our Lives that will be held on Saturday, March 24 at 11:00 a.m. – get there early – ride the light rail, carpool and Uber. Should be a great group of passionate people who want to stand with our young people.
How can you help? On Tuesday evening, March 20, 6:00 PM at Triple C Brewing, 2900 GRIFFITH ST, – owner Chris has graciously donated the Barrel Room – across the street from the actual brewery for people who want to volunteer to sign up for what needs to be done and to get ourselves organized. At 7:00 the students will take over for a poster making party. You all are invited to stay, have a beverage and make some poster to help us get in the mood to walk beside our sons and daughters!”
To never again see an innocent life taken in schools.
While Charlotte women responded to a national call for women to march in January 2017, our local organization evolved independently. Charlotte Women’s March is not a part of the national Women’s March organization, but a fully independent, organic, and grassroots group with local leaders and members. CWM strongly opposes all anti-Semitism, including statements made by any of the national Women’s March leaders. We believe, as the Anti-Defamation League says, “No one should be targeted or treated unfairly because of their religion, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin or disability.”
Part of our mission is advocating for the equity and equality for all peoples. CWM is committed to working for change, inclusion, and collaboration in our local community.
