We’ve been busy!
Check out the website’s new calendar of events – the easiest way to keep up with what’s going on. We have been active the last several weeks:
Carrie Davey, Yvonne McCracken, Catherine Connor, Jan Anderson and Ellen Creede attended (with their husbands) the wonderful Planned Parenthood Condom Couture annual fundraiser.
Jan Anderson attended the NAACP joint meeting with Indivisible Uptown.
Emily Stephenson-Green attended the Women’s March in Barcelona on March 8.
Heloise Merrill and Marsha Ford organized voter registration during the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Kathryn Mahan and Ann Hooper attended a coalition meeting of 100 activist groups in our area.
The following CWM committees met: Racial Justice (photo to left), Women’s Health, Environment and Voter Registration/ Candidate Support.
And we all called our legislators to tell them what we thought of the Ryan Health Care bill.
Keep up the good work! March On!

Call or write Richard Burr 202/224-3154 and Thom Tillis 202/224-6342 to protest the deep cuts and defunding of the arts as well as other educational and humanitarian programs and agencies in the Republican budget.
Call or write Richard Burr and ask him to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Russian involvement in the elections and with the Trump campaign. 202/224-3154 or 800/685-8916.
Call or write your state legislator concerning HB 62. It is another attempt at legislating women’s health and it is not even a medically tested procedure. Contact Speaker Tim Moore (919/733-3451) and Senate Leader Phil Berger (919/733-5708). More on our Facebook page.
We are still interested in contacting Wells Fargo to see
if we can meet at their space under Knight Theater.
You can help rally the troops so we don’t ever forget:
this is NOT the new normal!
